AKOGirl

Not as grown up as my age tells me I should be.
LOVE my family.
LOVE my friends.
Can't live without music.
Appreciate and value honesty.
Know there's a time and place to be crass.
.... and John Mayer's ok too.

Starting now…..

Starting now, I look forward rather than back.

Starting now, I behave like the strong person I am rather than the weak, vulnerable person I’ve become over the past few months… or years.

Starting now, I appreciate each and every moment of every day.

Starting now, because I know life ”….won’t all go the way it should…..I know the heart of life is good.”

Starting now, I do the things I always dreamed of doing.

Starting now, I do not settle for anything less than what I deserve.

Starting now, I follow my own advice.

Starting now, I “build my heart an army” and face my fears head-on.

Starting now, I am proud of my accomplishments.

Starting now, I forgive myself.

Starting now, I forgive.

Starting now, “my shadow days are over,” and I begin to live.

Finally…….The studio version of Queen of California….  It’s as brilliant as I knew it would be!  You need to watch it a few times to catch the various nuances….  (Check out the number on his hotel/apartment door…)

iTunes exclusive five song EP coming August 7… Sadly (though funny to me) the title is pretty much the truth. Four in studio acoustic performances and the track “Go Easy On Me” from the Born and Raised sessions. A little something for all your support and patience.
I’m about to enter the prep/surgery/recovery wormhole next week (edit: surgery at the end of August) , but I’m excited to get back to it next year. Hope you’re all having a great summer.

We’ll take what we can get, John!

Michael Kiwanuka performing “I’m Getting Ready” on Letterman.

You should reblog this video today to help promote something ORIGINAL and not culled together, copied and pasted, covered, repurposed, parodied, made ironic, specious or insincere. Great stuff needs to win the day sometimes.

The wonderful Greg Leisz recording his pedal steel performance at the end of Queen of California. We only ended up using flourishes of his playing in the final track but all of it was spectacular and deserves to be heard… One of the very few unseen videos from the recording of Born and Raised.
